Dr. Alexander Leim (1897-1960) received his B.A. and PhD. degrees at the University of Toronto and joined St. Andrews Biological Station. He co-authored the book 'Fishes of the Atlantic coast of Canada' and was appointed Assistant Director of the Fisheries Experimental Station of Halifax. He was promoted to the positions of Director of the Fisheries Experimental Station in Halifax and St. Andrews Biological Station.
